Tonight has been nice and calm. First, I went to Michael’s and bought a new medium dagger brush. Then I relaxed and watched Darjeeling Limited. Everything has been dandy, I see no neccessity to bitch about anything and it is snowing in Greensboro ( actually snowing, not teasing like it has ever since I moved to North Carolina nine years ago). Awesome, yeah, rad… I got a twitter to see the hype of it, I still do not see what is the big deal and I feel like such a dork. Also, I have been listening to latin music all night and sketching. So yeah here is a brief sketch to try out my new brush.
Ah, apparently I will not have school tomorrow (doubt it). So yeah… night!
Seriously: http://comingupforair.net/
However, I feel compelled to post something. So here are sketchnesses from color theory today (and my scanner is kind of a jerk.)
- Some things I am feeling, others that I am really not
I am currently sitting in History of Printmaking with Goldstein, calculating the duration of each pause/stutter that my professor makes during the lecture. Currently in the first six minutes he has made about seven and will remain this way for the duration of class… I should be studying right now but I am blogging and I believe everyone should go check out this wonderful blog (if you like food art that references movies and such): http://annathered.wordpress.com/
Right now, I would have to say… win an Eisner. That would be cool, so I better get to work.
Also check out Kira Kira (she makes me ambitious). Sounds like a blend between Mum and Lullatone.
I make one post, not inform anyone, and get twenty page views in one day…This freaked me out, simply because I have had one view every other day for the past month. So yeah.
Hello,
I added some more links and a new category to the left of the blog. What else to say… classes are awesome-ish. I started writing out the main story for my current project “Xixi” (title subject to change), and I have a good feeling about the core plot. However, I am trying to decide if this project will be short or of average length. I want to do something exciting this week, maybe a trip to Chapel Hill.
I have two gifts this week for the people that stumble across my blog this week. The first is a wonderful cover of my favorite Elliot Smith song by Chris Garneau.
Second is a Balloon Shop video…*shiver*
Hope all is well among the netinter.

…there was ginger in it, thus I had an allergic reaction. Good day. Oh yeah, class starts Tuesday…
Most of the people that check this blog, some what know me. However, I feel like talking about me and what encompasses my life. So yeah…I did not want an “about me ” section and this pretty much covers that issue.
My name is Matthew Glenn Brinkley. I was born in Wichita Falls,TX and I have lived in North Carolina for the past nine years. Currently I am attending the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, majoring in Design and I plan to continue onto graduate school. I am typically laid back and enjoy spending my spare time at art supply stores, coffee shops with vegan muffins, or just exploring areas around North Carolina… yeah…lame. I LOVE ALL THINGS ART!
The following things are small bleeps and blurbs of things I enjoy that come across my mind and will be a constant steam of “I”: Constant typos. I love working with ink (brush and pen), the occasional watercolor, and of course frosted mylar (it’s like working with heavenly plastic). I am not religious because it does not fit into my life in any way, even though I find Islam intriguing. I am the sweetest cynical bastard you will ever get to know. I enjoy simple and complicated things, because I tend to work in extremes. Watching French movies and eating Mediterranean food in the same day makes me love every moment in life. I have a huge pile of new art and other books that desperately need to be opened. Music is always a plus. Art Nouveau makes me feel like a kid, I do not know why…Typing contractions bothers me. Artists I like are to the left, same for music, and other junk. I love tattoo flash and tattoos, but I do not want a single one because I am too indecisive. I have a very twisted view on modern art and I am always willing to talk about it, even though I may insult people. Stupidity is a turn off. Orangina, nothing else. Butoh dance is beautiful. Rhodes pianos make me smile. Nature, fragility, spirituality, tattoo stereotypes, fate, and soft/harsh extremes make up my art themes. New people are wonderful, so talk to me sometime…you’re cool, I am bored, coffee or falafel? Awkward? I know right?
I am going to update this post later but yeah…this is a brief bit. Check facebook or something. This video sums up how I am doing right now:
